Merry Time Folk Club

A class for late intermediate / advanced players who can play tunes comfortably at dance tempo.

All folky instruments are welcome - fiddle, guitar, banjo, harp, mandolin, whistles, accordions, etc. This class is geared towards teens and adults, but kids who play and learn at an intermediate / advanced levels are also welcome on a case-by-case basis. Get in touch to discuss!

  • Location: Merry Time Music Co. - 5558 Sullivan Street, Halifax NS.

    Classes are on the 3rd floor, with two flights of stairs and no elevator access.

    For those with allergies, there is a cute & small but still allergenic dog who lives on the premises.

  • $101.25 per month (Sept - Dec)

    Sliding scale options are available for those who may need financial assistance

    • By registering for this class you are purchasing a spot in all 8 weeks of class.

    • Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least two weeks prior to the class start date in order to be issued a school credit. 

    • Cancellations that are made less than 2 weeks before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their class fee. 

    • Due to our small class sizes, this policy ensures that teachers are compensated for their time and wait listed students have the opportunity to join a sold out class. Please be sure of your schedule before registering for a class.

    • In the case of a weather event, classes will be moved online to Zoom.

    • In the case of a teacher absence due to illness, we will reschedule the class on our designated flex week.

    • A minimum of 4 students are required to run the class. If there is not enough registration to run the class, you will be refunded in full.

  • Your instrument, a phone or other audio recording device, and a small three ring binder (½ inch is perfect).
