Folk Jam

A PWYC Folk Jam for kids with at least 1 year playing experience. Come experience the joy of playing music with other young musicians! For kids ages 7y - 17y.

We’ll play classics like Boil the Cabbage Down, Little Liza Jane, Cluck Old Hen & more. You’ll learn jam etiquette like:

  • What do I play when I don’t know the tune?

  • What tunes should I learn to jam with others?

  • How do I chord along on my instrument?

  • How do I play in time with others?

And it’ll be fun too!

Folk Jam meets on the last Saturday of the month and is open to fiddles, violins and chording instruments (like guitar, ukulele, piano).

  • Folk Jam is by PWYC donation to our scholarship fund.

    You can donate in cash at the event, or via e-transfer to support@merrytimemusic.com (password: peanut)
